Hi, does anyone know what the manual gearbox is fitted to the p38 diesel? (BMW engine). I'm told they have R380 but are they different to Disco 300tdi? I'm looking at an engine conversion for my old Defender and the wife has a P38 DSE with powerbox and full stainless performance exhaust, I'm very impressed with the power of it and releablity for such a big heavy car, so I'm looking at dropping a BMW 2.5td motor and R380 box into the defender?
What gearbox?
