Could it possibley be Discojamz being towed out of the snow by a standard P38??? :D

i believe so, i just saw this on facebook! i have a feeling it will have been not that he got stuck, but that his V8 started to smell again

Yea, a UJ on the rear prop shaft sheared. Lookes like series UJs are smaller than defender ones, and ive busted many defender ones.

what - did he take the prop off then? coz could he not have put it into 4wd and then driven it out in what would then be front wheel drive?

would have saved being towed by the p38 anyway!

The words in red are not necessery. :p

ha no they ar ok if you look after em. i went up to the peak district with the herts laners in my 1958 series II diesel. safe to say it was slow, uncomfortable, and i elected not to bring the roof either, but it got me there, did everything i threw at it, including stanage edge which a few said it wouldnt manage. only time it ****ed around a bit was up a road ascent, it was a continual steep hill and it overheated and discarded half the rad everywhere

but a weekend of motoring, constant pretty much and it didnt so much as splutter any annoyance

yeathe local in his kitted out 110 had a few issues.

i went down it in the series, which had no mods other than a bloody solid rear cross member, some rock sliders and 235/70 colway muds

but it got me there, did 2 days of off roading, and got me back without any real issues so series arent all that bad!
