Don't forget you'll need insurance to drive it home. If you are insured to drive any other car, It mustn't be owned by you, or you won't be insured to drive it.So you won't be insured to drive any car you've bought from the auction Also with ANPR cameras all over the place. If you pass one it'll flag up as having no tax or insurance. and you'll be more likely to get a pull.

fone your insurance on the day if you buy...thats sorted lol....another tip is on the site theyl show the 'buy it nows'...they can be worth a look.....you can climb all over it at your leasure...kick the tyres....go have a coffee, come back and kick em again....your not having to outbid anyone within a second or few.
Then make a offer, theyl fone the owner and you can make adjustments to price etc,but the main thing is you can have a good look over it first

Thanks for that;)

Yeah I would get insured, I guess it is the tax thingy but I might just have to chance that...

So can you not have a look around them before the auction anyway or did you just mean you are not restricted by time?

I used to love going to car auctions with my dad as a kid. He would never bid on the ones I liked though lol! I have just looked at the results of the 5 I was interested in and they went for about 3-4k whereas the same ones at dealers were a god 2-3 k more than that!

hmmmm now can I get next Tuesday off work...

i used to get down there aroubd 9...have a full breakfast for £3.50(oh boy is it nice!)then go for a walk down the line looking first at the ones id already chosen from the list/online...check them over......auction starts at 11am....then,lets say id decided on lot 34......once i saw say,lot 25 come into the hall id take a walk down to lot 34 and be there to see it start etc,the guys would let you look under the bonnet...check out the interior......listen to the gearbox/clutch etc......id already had a good look over/under it earlier......i had a price already in my head and id bid to that price,if i got it then great......if not then i always had others/next week

14 is a 2 or 3 seat pickup.....and they feel a bit small inside, and obviously there are no rear seats.43 looks ok...its a TD5 but if you can live with that then great.
11 would be well within your budget
17 ditto
18 walk away
21 expensive and its a 110
38 is what 14 looks like
61 worth a look

and thats about it...not a great selection this week with the current financial difficulties...but more should filter through with the new plate out.
if you look on ebay there is often a guy in bolton selling half decent 90s and hes not too far from you to go and view/test drive

no worries, best of luck in your search.....take as long as you need to find the RIGHT VEHICLE FOR YOU....as your the one that has to live/£/drive with it for a long time afterwards...but im sure that somewhere out there is one with your name on it

check out this months landrover international......should you go the TD5 route then theres a little service guide in the issue, and a page on brightwells.....and a few ads in the back that you may well find attractive,,,,,especially a met blue 300TDi CSW that a dealer is offering.
