Just got my first discovery 1995 V8, just need a few things answering if poss, already sorted the LPG prob thanks to all who helped. What are discoverys like to work on ? I am fairly handy with the spanners but have no experiance of welding, and parts look pretty cheap ( springs, shockers, drive joints ect) Should the rear tailgate door have an interior handle for opening from the inside ? also the tailgate door won't lock or unlock when all the other doors lock and unlock but will lock if the pin is pushed down, the key won't work in this lock either . Boot floor has one hole in it and a few rust patches is it best to just replace the whole thing or patch up? also the inner wing under the air filter has a rust hole is this an easy repair. In town the rear end feels a bit sloppy but on the main roads it all feels O.K. are there any bushes I need to look at or is this normal ? All in all I am pleased with the vehicle and hope to keep it a while and also pick your brains as we go along. Cheers.

*Yes the rear door has a handle/lever to open it it from the inside and a long grab handle to pulle it closed.

*Door won't lock/unlock ... sounds like the spring has gone, they are available on ebay very cheap, tis a fiddly job though (have a search on here as it's been covered)

*Boot floor ... if it's only one hole and rust is not too bad why replace? a patch and clean up would suffice surely.

*Rear end soggy ... just what mine was like when I bought it. Chance's are it's still on the original shock's which will be a wee bit tired, it's cheap enough to replace them & the bush's & it's an easy straight forward job.

Cheers mate, anyone selling an interior tailgate door opening handle ? are they the same as the other doors ?

1 gud tip for working on landy's is always have a super sized family tin of penetrating oil cos you can just about garantee any bit you want to take apart will be correded solid and if you are good at planning in advance then spray the required parts once a day for a week b 4 attempting to strip it down. this does tend to save a lot of the skin on ya knucles lololol :D

Have a look at the For Sale section on here in case someone is breaking a Disco, failing that fleabay will probably come up trumps.
