Right i left my 98 P38 4 ltr in the work car park while i went away for a couple of weeks. It snowed and it snowed and i fully expected to come back and have to call out the RAC to jump start it etc.

Got in it and my baby started first time!!! even the EAS worked as it should.

I love my Rangie...:cheer2:

lol

i did leave the keys on my desk but didnt tell anyone so it couldnt have been work mates. must be the lesser spotted LR fairies.

going to reward her with a full 9 year service from a indie that i have found. £287 for a full service inc all fluids in line with LR service schedule. First time ive will have used this company but ill be in touch with a progress report late next week.

It is a pleasant surprise when they actually work as they should do!

I can leave mine two weeks and it starts instantly too, there must be no-one near me with a cordless weather station or doorbell!

Mine is like that, started 1'st time in minus 7C this week and the EAS came straight up. It's got a big battery:D

Haha! I love the fact it's a "pleasant surprise" that your car starts after 2 weeks of not being used - surely this would only happen on a Range Rover forum, with possible exceptions including the Lancia Owners Club (but that'd never happen)!

Mike,
Plenty of old Porsches wouldn't start after 2 weeks, I've had one the wouldn't and one that would.
There's usually some electricery butchery after 15+years which means it all seems to work but never quite as you expect it!

Haha! Well my RRC stands for a week at a time no problem - should I be nervous about leaving it at an airport for 10-12 days for fear of it not starting on my return?? Fortunately I keep a pair of jump leads in the boot, just in case...

I think your RRC will be ok Mike... much less sillyness to play up while you've left it!

Talking of old Porsches, I used to have a 944S which sometimes drained it's battery.. removal of the 4 previously fitted/bodged/disconnected/knackered immobilisers cured the problem!

My 944S never got the chance to drain a battery, crank failed at 400 miles, headlining dropped on my head, gearbox seized in third at about 1500 miles, brakes failed twice, got shot before I'd had it 6 months most of which was spent at the stealers:mad:

Oh and my MR2 spends the winter in an unheated barn and starts after a few turns come spring:D:D:D

Oh dear, sounds like a very bad experience with that one  !
Mine was good really, had very little other than servicing to get it to 150k.. (the point at which I sold it). Sunroof was always a bugger though!

Isn't it amazing, we marvel at a car that will start after being idle for a couple of weeks whereas a few years ago we would have been suprised if it did'nt. They say the world has moved forward, have I missed something?
