always had this problem, but flagged up yet again this morning - 02 DII TD5 - moderate speed through puddles anything larger than a tea tray and the windscreen is deluged with a vast sheet of water that renders the road entirely invisible !

am i simply driving like too much of an arse, missing a mudflap (can't believe there's supposed to be one in front of the front wheels !) or what ? i've got the extended wheelarches fitted, but i'd have thought this would have reduced the problem rather than made it worse - is this just a known issue - seems very odd for a rufty tufty go anywhere 4 x 4 offroad type vehicle to be reduced to driving blind by a bit of surface water !

It's just the nature of any 4x4 with a good approach angle. I just read the road ahead, predict what will happen and turn the wipers on beforehand.

Detoured to the local ford this evening for exactly that reason! :D

The same thing used to happen to my old Trooper (RIP). I guess it's the increased clearance at the front allowing the bow-wave to break over the bonnet. If you dinna like it, slow down for puddles...

Moderate speed is too fast for anything deeper than a couple od inches on a 4x4 with good approach angles, water just gets thrown forwards and upwards.

Only way to stop it is to either slow down appropriately or speed up a lot ... I'd suggest slowing down ... ;)
