Hey everyone i been abit quiet for a while but i am back with another question.

The roof of the Landy has alot of condinsation on it on the inside whick results in a wet floor and bulkhead.

I there anyway to stop the condinsation or is it just one of those Land Rover things you have to put up with. I dont wont to swap the roof either.

any ideas?
 
you need to insulate the panels. we used to do it on mini/transit vans.
used that quilted vinyl stuff on a roll. stuck it on with evostick.
it worked ok.
 
I would have though sticking some carpet to the roof should do it. Just some of the thin nylon stuff you get in offices. If you do it properly it might look nice too and keep the warm in (when it fianlly warms up!). Spray adhesive should make it fairly easy too.
 
you need to use special hi-temp glue fer stickin stuff to the roof. otherwise what ever you stuck there in winter stands a good change of dropin on yer heid in summer.
you can get tins of the stuff from www.woollies.co.uk or maybe it was dot com

if you put roof lining on with ordinary glue, when the roof heats up in summer the glue gets,( like you,) it becomes unstuck, and it falls down
 
So using a glue gun to re-stick the odd bit of unstuck carpeting lining my roof and load area isn't a good idea?:confused:

Man, you shoulda said last week, I spent a whole 59p on new glue sticks and everything last Saturday in preparation! :D
 
Well, there was a time back in the Stone Roses, madchester faze when that was the 'look'. I'll just keep my fingers crossed Trinny & Susannah tell us floppy hats are the in thing next summer. :D

What you need is a tropical roof panel. I've seen these on the outer surface of the roof panel on some hard tops. A mate of mine had one on his S3 CSW, his Landy never suffered with condensation.

is that tropical roof like a 2 tier affair? i think i seen one a while back on a series... so whats an alpine roof then and why is it so called that? and why do older 90's have rigged roofed and the new ones all one panel?

right, here is a description of landy roofs:

TROPICAL/SAFARI- a roof with an outer skin fitted on top of the original roof with about a 1 inch gap

ALPINE- a roof with those little biddy windows in the edges of the roof

STANDARD- just a good old run o the mill roof with no windows or extra panels

hope this makes things clear ;)
