etch primed the galv cappings, goin to spray them gun metal i think so it stays the same, and dont bleed down the body like the bare galv will

kinda put a stop to the spraying

i know exactly what you mean about storing the sprayed parts i am on all stop at the moment as ive run out of space and need to get my engine sorted and sprayed to free up a load of space and chance to fit most of my sprayed parts

on another note the HMG paint your using is fekkin awesome stuff can be thinned down to **** and goes a hell of a long way and doesnt orange peel very easily at all and seems to give a high gloss finish no matter what

just wish i could afford to have used that paint instead of this new experimental stuff im using wich gives a similar finish but is a bugger for running

a trick i have come up with on the storage of finished pannels is to wrap the smaller parts in a bit of newspaper or old dust sheet in a carrier bag and hang it up off the ceiling in the shed where its nice dry and cool out of the way and totaly protected till i get round to needing that part
nice and easy to find the next part needed as its written on the carrier bag whats in it
hope this helps :D:D:D

ps keep up the awesome work mate as your a damn hard act to follow :praise::praise:

cheers mate, weathers against me this week i think, might have a play with the tractor instead, not so arsed about it gerrin wet !

gorra say , that paint has been the best iv used, sprays lovely thins well , no variation in colours despite mixing different percentages of thinners for different jobs, ie when i wanted to lay a thick coat on to seal internal corners etc giving harder ware etc,

just wanna see it all done now thats the only probem, starts to depress me when i cant do awt fer a few weeks, seems like its wasting my time, then all of a suddem it comes together over night .

more to come after this weekend i think, will attack the rear tub if the suns out

It has taken me 2 days to read this thread (and not alot done while i'm at work - sorry boss). By far one of the best and detailed build i've read!! Almost disappointed that i've finished (for now). Great work from over here in Australia!! I'm build will be nowhere near this quality or detail!!

i bought my HMG paint a tenner per litre. i used bang on 3 litre tins doing my external respray (same colour so no point doing interior) good thick coats with a great finish, only a couple of runs, but thats because i was trying to get as peel free as i could.

yeah , me new shed ,tis out the back of me workshop, kinda an extension, in that yard that wer full of scrap , i had big ideas of gettin back in to joinery manufacturing so decided to start back up small, tis a slow start tho, done a few jobs , would like more tho...... beats sittin in traffic and being ****ed about by customers on sites that dont kno what they want and change there mnd every two mins hittin me in the pocket, so am spinnin plates between the two now, manufacturing and fitting, oh , and storing sprayed body panells in there , tis nice with the heaters on :)

been up ter much yer self ?

Not much, sitting in traffic going to work, keep looking at the Rangy but not done anything, other than feeding the mice that have moved into the engine bay with purple grain:D Hope to be up soon so will pop round for a cuppa :tea:

ok mate no worries, kettles always on.

well , as if by magic, all the body panells have been bashed straight and filled in places, two coats of etch primer, three buff primers and three yellow synthetic top coats, the galvanised cappings have been powder coated gunmetal grey/ silver metalic, so has the grill and a few other bits , brackets etc,
glass has been cleaned and polished ready to go back in, and new door rubbers . glass beads and trims have been ordered,
the rear tubs been repared , looks like a new one, had new arches and floor, has been sand blasted again and etched, filled , primed and sprayed, all waiting on the wiring before the tub goes on , then its the final push :D

pics to come tomorrow, have left camera at work

well at last we had a nice day to do some more spraying, so the tub got finished,
