Hi,

I have a 300tdi. It is a weetabix.

I have no previous proper experience of welding. What should i be looking at learning? MIG? TIG?

Is it worth trying to attend some sort of course? Or just get some kit and sheet metal?

Or is it worth just trying to get a mobile welder in once i have cut all the rust out?

TIA, M

Try contacting one of your local colleges, as many of them have 10 to 12 week evening class courses in basic welding.

+1 ^^^^

What they said ... then you'll know what to get and better how much to pay for it ...

This will give some idea, but it's better to be shown in person - hence the night course suggestions ...

South Manchester. Going to look at courses. Mr. Noisy lives near me and he has kindly said he will come round to have a look.

Not the worst but not the best. Considering tray backing it.

I'm based in Stoke on Trent so not too far from you. May be interested in patching it up for you or giving you a few welding pointers to do it yourself. I'm a fabricator / welder by trade.
