Thanks for your help, only getting a bit frustrated due to the fact this thread was changing its subject, from a technical fault to going through the legal crap.

I havent got a clue how this can be fixed, there must be a way but for now i can cope with raising the window when it lowers. I would rather have to live with it then go back to my old lights. The new ones are brilliant !

Thanks

sorry i didn't mean to drag up all the legal stuff - some may not have realised this and it might be useful for anyone else considering an upgrade.

The fault has to be to do with the rear window controller thinking the battery has been disconnected as has been stated.

As a thought have you tried switching the lights on by setting up a temporary switched feed to the relay?

At least if you bypass the FL lighting switch and circuits you will know if the kit itself is causing the ECU to drop the window. If your new lights turn on and the window stays put then the issue has to be the internal freelander wiring and not the battery or your new light kit.

Hope this helps a little?

i reckon you have a bad earth in the rear of the car, and power is feeding back down the window system when you put your lights on, if it is connected ( the problem) then thank hattie for showing us the thread about the seat.

Hi, thanks for your help

No problems mate,

Its a good idea to give the legal stuff for as you say people that may upgrade like me.

Good suggestion there, i will hook a temp switch up and see if it does it.

one of the lights has its earth taken off the battery and the other is taken off the body work, do you think that somehow the one with the earth taken off the body work is back feeding down to the window circuit and causing problems ?

I guess i can only try by disconnecting that light and see if the problem still persists ?

Thankyou ! ;)

Sounds quite likely.
