Weird problem today, wonder if anyone can shed some light on this for me.
Working on a car (2.5 dse) this afternoon on the ramp. My car (4.0se) was parked outside.
Anyway finished what i was doing and went to fire the car up, Crank, Crank, Crank no start! Messed around checking connections etc, everything fine. Plugged it in, checked BECM and Diesel ECM, out of sync, done the business and she fired into life.
I would say maybe half an hour later went out to my car to start it, nothing! No Crank, No Click. Left it as had another couple of jobs to get on with.
Went back to mine when i finished off tonight, checked starter connections etc, everything fine. On the off chance plugged it in, and voila exactly the same problem.
So i want to know is there anything specific that causes this or was this just a coincidence? I've never had to do it to my car, and its an early petrol anyway so didnt think they had the same issues as the diesel and later petrol models.
I have another 2 Range Rovers sitting, i should off checked them as well, but it was almost 8 by this point and wanted home for a bath.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Yep they conspired together to mess with your mind:eek:.

Me neither, but technically since its the BeCM that forgets the code and that is common to all P38's there is no reason why not. In recent days rick the Pick has persuaded me it does and as such we have now added a GEMS sync mate to the line up which does already seem as popular as the others.

It would be interesting to hear if the other two sitting P38's got zapped as well.
