Hi Chaps, I have a 2.5 petrol engine with a weber 32/34 dmtl carb. The engine starts sweet as a nut first turn of the key, she ticks over lovely. The problem arises when you go to accelerate quickly or go up hills. The engine starts missing. I have had jets out and emulsifiers, all clean. Checked mixture screw seems okay. I`m sure the vaccum valve is working. The carb does not look that old.
So if anybody has had same problem or has any ideas could you let me know.
Thanks

Ive got a 2.5 petrol and had a simular problem.
If you look at the carb from the front of the landy, you will see a solenoid on the front of the carb and 1 at the side.
When you unscrew the front solenoid and remove it you will see(if I remember correctley) in the hole the solenoid came out of a metal rod going into the body of the carb with a spring around it.
At the end of this rod is a rubber type bung.
When I had problems with my carb the rubber bung had detached itself and fallen into the float chamber.

The symptoms with mine were very simular to yours.
Mine would idle perfect and drive perfect if I used light throttle, as soon as I used heavy throttle it would cough and splutter.

You have to take the carb apart to re attach the rubber bung.
