Webasto Timer for FBH?

Morning all. Have found someone selling Webasto 1533 oval timers for £55 each.

What is actually needed to control the FBH system? Just the timer, and wire it in to the control wire on the FBH? The FBH does run fine when it is cold enough, but I would quite like the engine to be nice and warm when I jump into it in the morning. Not only for warm air from the heater, but also less engine wear from the coolant/oil being warmer than a stone cold start

I was toying with buying one from Germany, but they weigh in about £80 or so. Would much rather spend £55, just in case it doesn't work

Sure somewhere on here is the wiring mods you need to do without the timer and just using a simple remote control. If not rover 75/zt forums might help one guy on there has done some real research into it.

FBH mounted on Td4's is thermo top Z , they don't have separate coolant circulation pump. So they can't work without engine running, also they don't control interior heater fan.

To convert thermotop z to standard FBH you need add a circulation pump, and wire it. Not all thermo top Z's can control a circulation pump.

Every Freelander fbh I've seen has the pump fitted.
Also one of the pins on the multiplug has an out put when the coolant reaches a certain temperature to control the fan.
Plenty of info on here for fitting remote operation.

Maybe it's depended on Model Year or equipment version (Thermotop Z and C as an dealer option) I got one 2001 and 2002. Both have only fuel pump, and no coolant circulation pump.
In 2001 i bought coolant pump from webasto dealer , wire it to mulitplug and everything works fine with Telestart remote.
In case od 2002 pump won't work, and whole unit was replaced for C version.

Could be they factory fitted the fbh with pump when they started offering the timer/remote as a dealer/owner fit option.

They have the pump fitted, but I had to get the exhaust and silencer elswhere.
They have non left now,and I'm down to my last complete kit.

Ordered one anyway. Cheapest place I could find them anywhere, even online
