Webasto Heater & GKN Overdrive - Any tips?

Has anyone fitted either a Thermo Top C Webasto diesel heater to their Defender or a GKN Overdrive?

I am about to embark on both of these and wondered if there are any tips that might help me.

Does anyone know if there is a specific fitting kit for a defender for the Thermo Top or is the fitting kit supplied by Webasto a generic one?

Is the location of the ABS and Traction control unit likely to foul the positioning of the heater. This has been a problem when fitting a Safari Snorkel.

Vehicle is a 110 Td5 Double Cab XS (05)

Had a O/D on a defender 90 for 4 years .Change oil regularly bit messy .Well worth the money. I used a Kenlowe Heater works from mains and heats up windscreen and interior given no problems over 3 winters, as we use Webasto heaters on the bus fleet and they tend to give problems if used on diesel all the time.

I used to work at a dealer where we fitted a fair few diesel pre-heaters.

The heater unit part can be fitted pretty much anywhere and is plumbed into the heater hoses so your abs modulator wont cause a problem, if i remember rightly, we fitted them on the passengers inner wing in front of the heater box.

You'll also need to drill the top of the fuel sender (late 300's & Td5) to fit a pick up pipe for the fuel feed to the heater. On early 300tdi's, the sender is on the side of the tank so I'm not sure about where the pick up would go as we never fitted them to early vehicles.

Theres a bit of wiring involved as we also fitted timers to the dash so you can set it to come on, say, an hour before you leave for work and so on, as part of the system there was also a heater that we fitted under the back seat to warm the interior as well as using the cars heater.

There are different variations of pre-heater, depending on customer requirements.
