Now i know there's those who love it or hate it , bit like Marmite . and say to use dinitrol . But i have loads of waxoyl and im going to use it . Ive used buckets of Fertan everywhere i can get to and spray . So the lovers of waxoyl is it ok to use ie in this weather october or should i wait until its warmer , and if i spray waxoyl inside the chassis will that help or not . Or is there anything i can spray inside the chassis . this is an 96 defender so its not brand new , but solid enough .

The benefit of doing it on a hot summers day is that it won't solidify so quickly, so it will run in to cavities further. You can get dinitrol of different viscosity and so you can use the thinner stuff first to get in to the cracks and then the thicker stuff on top. Having said that, you can probably thin the waxoyl to get it to do the same.
Waxoyl is obviously fine inside the chassis. With all of these things preparation is key and not just words. Have you had a hose inside the chassis rails to clean it out? Preferably high pressure. Was everything cleaned and degreased before you applied the Fertan? A PITA, I know, but massively improves results.

It was all very bare and with surface rust but clean , Im guessing it had been steamed ready for sale and just left and why i was eager to get the Fertan on it . , but i did Jizer it off in the greasy bits but weren't many as i said it was clean , But cleaned using a brush a real pita as i did the mechanical's also , then used a Karcher fairly good blast from it , poking in all the holes to clear , then i sprayed the fertan . And have been topping it up
. As soon as i get another litre (on its way) i will spray more inside the chassis . I must admit i was reluctant to blast inside the chassis in fear of filling it up with water , But if you think wise i will do so tomorrow .

This sounds good. The Jizer is a good move as I've found I get way better results from the Fertan when the area has been degreased.

If you have been spraying Fertan in to the chassis rails it may just be getting soaked up by the muck/mud in there.
Many people run water through their chassis rails, especially if they have just been off roading in muddy conditions. The problem you have at this time of year is waiting for it to dry out a bit. Fertan you apply with the metal wet anyway, it says that in the directions for use. Don't know what waxoyl says the surface has to be like? So, you could blast the inside of the rails out with high pressure water, let the excess run out, spray the inside full of Fertan, but does it need to dry out before applying waxoyl? I don't know.

I will blast it out tomorrow , Fertan is good for upto 6 months (it says) before it needs painting etc and its better as you say when wet . So i can do it and leave until it gets better weather , but i will keep topping it up as needed .

Sounds like a plan. I'd give it another rinse through in 6 or so months time. Let it dry over a couple of warm day and waxoyl after that. Does the waxoyl instructions mention how dry the surface has to be?

I need to check on that , But i think best to wait until its warmer , and to jet/hose out the best i can and spray more Fertan , although ive just been looking at Jenolite which is similar but in aerosols so would spray better in the chassis , Will the wiring loom inside the chassis be ok if hosed out . guess it should be .

I double checked and poked and banged got my hand in everywhere possible , Nothing fell out apart from a bit of sand in one front outrigger and on the rear a bit of rust , so hope thats due to the fertan working , But i think at this time i would do more damage jetting the chassis out than leaving it . What im going to do is use Jenolite as its in a aerosol with extention pipe and spray inside , and maybe in warmer weather possible jet it out and all over let it dry properly , Spray more of my friend Fertan in and out , i may even treat myself to Dinitol for the inside Then waxoyl it in and out , if that dosent help , let the old girl rot in peace , at least my conscience will be clear lol .
