Water pump

Just wondering how easy it is to change water pump on my 300tdi disco as the gasket leaking

It's a pretty quick job, I did mine in about 30 mins this morning. How-to guide here for the P-gasket but it shows the water pump coming off in the process.

Depends on whether the long bolts that pass through the pump and bracket into the block are willing to come out. When I did mine I found some previous repairer had broken the head off one of them at some time in the past, leaving the rest of the bolt seized solid in the bracket. Right battle.
I suggest you get new long bolts to have ready in case the old ones are damaged.

+1 on new bolts. If the gasket has gone its probably been on there a while, may be worth considering fitting a new pump at the same time (xmas pressy for the disco)

Totally agree with everyone if all the long bolts undo then they're a piece of cake
Remember to crack the pulley bolts of with the belt still on

Got new pump gasket and bolts well chuffed it was cheep as well £20 of flebay

That's either expensive for a gasket and bolts or cheap for pump + gasket and bolts!
