Hello
I am new to the forum. And no mechanic
I purchased a 2017 Land Rover Discovery 3.0 supercharged Si6 Lux Auto 9 months ago and this week this it broke down. Diagnostic was water pump failure which has lead to head gasket failure. Garage, warranty company and Land Rover not being helpful. Anybody had this issue and can advise me where to go? Is it a common fault so is it worth re contacting Land Rover? Any help would be much appreciated

2017 cant see land rover being interested.
Have a good search of the forums, disco3 forum and others to see if its common.

The info I have found suggests the water pump is good until the chain Needs replacing between 90,000 - 120,000 miles and my vehicle has only done 40,000 miles
Ok thank you for that I will take a look

Water pumps are funny buggers, they can last forever or fail for no reason, we had loads go at work and the truck maker blamed it on incorrect anti freeze mix.
Basically sort of luck of the draw, has the car got a low coolant alarm?

Wrong place to ask.
This is for intro's only.
We have a Disco section where egg-spurts lurk.
Plastic impellor blades on the pump?
