Hi Guys.
my TD5 disco has started to rain in around the passenger footwell area any idears? It has no sunroofs and the water drips from under the dash roughly in line with the lock on the glove box.
I have checked all the seams around this area and have removed the side covers from the winscreen but still cannot find the B******Y leak it is driving me up the wall.

My neighbours TD5 leaks in the same place and he keeps a plastic box in the passenger foot well and has given up looking, any help would be very much appreachiated some one must have had this, Thanks in advance MOSSA

Hi Mossa....have you checked the seal on the air intake for the blowers. Its under the bonnet at the back of the bulkhead under the windscreen scuttle trim.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply I have looked at these and they appear Ok, Was going to get some sealer and undo the bolts apply them re-tighten the bolts. Will get some sealer on the way home from work tomorrow and let you know.

Hi again Mossa,

I fixed the leak down the side of the door we mentioned earlier in another thread. I'm now tracking down another leak and while looking for info I found your question from last summer. I now have a water drip from somewhere directly under the glovebox lock. It happens with the car parked in the rain so no splash upwards from puddles and the like. Did you find the cause of yours?

I've tried playing a hose over the windscreen area but can't make it happen.

Hi,

I traced my leak to a spot weld, if you remove the glove box and look towards the passanger door there is a few spot welds, it is where the reinforcing beam on the inner wing is welded on.

If you look down between the wing and the panel across the car below the windscreen with the bonnet open you should see the reinforcing beam, as water runs out of the schuttle panel via the drain hole in each side it runs directly on to this beam then runs out the bottom of the wing.

My spot weld had cracked, so put some seam sealer on the outside with a long model makers paint brush, and put a blob on the inside for good measure, left the glove box out for a few days just to make sure all was dry:)

Hope this helps took me ages to track it dowm as it did not always leak with the hose pipe test.

Cheers Mossa

Thanks Mossa,

I'll take a look for that tomorrow. I've been doing the hose test today and not a drop has got in and yet last night while the Disco was parked on the drive it came in giving us a puddle in the footwell this morning!

Thanks again,
