Hi
I have an 05 3 Door which is leaking water into the car through the door, its settling on the plastic trim that covers the seal near the bumper.
Ive removed the carpet to dry out and don't want to refit until 100%. It also gives me the opportunity to see where the leaks are originating from.
I have read countless threads about water leaks but was hoping to find someone had the same problem.
Ive also sealed around the toolbox recess in the floor.
Any pointers will be welcomed.
Steve

I have a feeling its going to be the plastic sheet inside the door. Will remove the door panel and take a peep.

Hi,

I've got the same problem with mine, I took the door panel off a couple of days ago and found the water shedder had been ripped off and not replaced.

However, I noticed that when it was raining, the water seemed to be getting through between the outer window seal and the glass.

This was dripping down inside the door and somehow landing on the strutted hinge at the bottom and ending up on the plastic strip, then running down into the tool box cupboard.
Hope this helps.

Best regard..

cant see that bag taped on the door like that stopping water, then again, stranger things have happened.
Because the rear of the panel goes into the door space. The water runs down the glass hits the back of the cover and tracks round underneath and comes out between the door and the panel. When the plastic is there it falls to the bottom of the door an drains out of the correct holes

Put a new sheet of plastic on my tailgate door with some anti-fungal clear silicone, not a drop of water inside the car since. If people don't know what they are doing, why can't they leave things the hell alone and get someone who does know to do it instead!

Hope your boot is as dry as the Sahara now mate!
