I seem to have excessive leaking during rainy weather, creating puddles in the front footwells. It isn't a torrent but does create enough wetness to be concerning.

Not really sure where it is coming from and where to start looking, but the doors are always bone dry and the front window seal was replaced about 2 years ago.

What are the common areas and causes of leaks of this nature?

Mine get wet when it rains, but in my case it is the door seals (at least I think it is!) I've got a new pair, ready to fit when I get a round tuit...

sounds like could be either the front vent seals (under the screen) or might be coming through the heater vent

I have it too in my 93 200tdi passenger side only

I think it is getting in through the door seal and then dripping down onto the mats from the door stay thingy. I reached this concusion by parking it sideways on a slope both ways round on different nights, and looking for drips in the morning, have not got round to sorting it out yet.

I think the phrase "thay all do that mate" might be appropriate here.

Be interested to hear other peoples cures though.

My 1998 110 gets puddles in the passenger footwell, BUT only with certain types of rain, torrential rain.................. not a problem, bone dry.
That fine rain.................. puddle in footwell:confused::confused::confused::confused: got rubber mats though so i just empty them out in the morning and the carpet stays nice and dry, tis bloody strange though:rolleyes::rolleyes:

My 1993 200tdi 90 gets very wet in the passenger footwell but then there's a really bad line of corrosion right across the top of it. Job for the warmer weather will be to replace both footwell sections along with the battery box.

hi mate, mine did the same in the passenger footwell. It was the vent seal, it had just come off the back of the vent, so i just stuck it back on with some glue:). It was that simple and it stopped the leak completley... well in the footwell, not to mention the rest of the leaks;)!!! Hope this helps.

Had the hosepipe out today round at mates for same reason to find where leak was coming from - mine was always dripping/pouring from where the bottom of dash meets the b'head....turns out it is the front vent seals, so easy fix there for that one :)

My 90's letting water in from underneath when driving in the wet, floor panel in passenger footwell is a removable section & only has a crappy silicon seal against where it meets the Bulkhead panel-just going to buy more silicon!!!

I agree the rest of you landy must be in full working order if you worried about the footwell.

Just leave it a month and something big will fook up and you'll forget about the foot well :)

I found water coming in behind the head lining at the front, running down the cabling and into the footwell. Some silicone in the top corner of the door frame by the windscreen sorted that.

Now when it rains, water comes out of the drivers side speaker.
I took off the heater controls and can see it dripping out under the bulkhead/windscreen frame "seal".

Will try some Captain Tolley's and more silicone when we've had a few dry days. Unless anyone knows a better solution.

i ad my windscreen replaced in september n av had newt but trouble with it leaking behind the dash into the foot well. went to autoglass today n they say it jus needs re-sealing!!!!!!!!!!! do get a leak from aerial on roof dependant on how heavy it rains, tried to seal this with a silicone sealant and also will be replacing door seals pretty soon as im getting **** wet through wen ever i go out in the rain lol.

got leaky places too, drilled a hole in the footwell for now as it seems to happen overnight when raining, not when driving. guna run arround everywhere with sealant!, the vent seals do look pretty fecked tho.
