Hey Folks ,

2003 - D2

Noticed some water on the drivers side, now I have attached some images and also an image of where the water is sitting.

Both my sunroofs have been sealed shut and pipes are both clear.
The roof bars have also been resealed etc. I have ran my hand down the drivers side to see if I feel anything wet but nothing.

Any one manage to shed any light on this ?

If you do a search for D2 screen leaks you'll find loads of threads about similar issues.

Water can get in from many places and sometimes make an appearance nowhere near where it's getting in.

the air con drains on either side of the transmission tunnel can get blocked and then overflow into the cabin from the heater unit., nip underneath and give the duckbill drain ends a poke with a screw driver, if water comes flooding out that's your problem.

Evening Folks,
Be a weekend of

finding. I’ve read plenty of previous posts from members and very interesting reads they are especially from

So decided this weekend I’m tackling it all day to nail this water ingress.

I’ve attached a pic from the the outside to show roughly where the water is sitting on the inside.

Hi, like it's been said, water can travel in that internal gutter/channel from anywhere along the external gutter. I put tissue every 3 or 4 inches from back to front in that internal gutter & checked each piece to see which bit got wet first then had a good look externally. Internally the water was coming in near the alpine window (but not caused by the window seal) & went along the inner gutter all the way to the front ! In the end I cleaned both external gutters of all mould/dirt/silt then used Capt Tolleys along the length of them (inside & out 3 applications) then after I was happy the leak was cured I ran Sikaflex along the external gutter for good measure.
Make sure the gutters are bone dry before applying any sealants, I used a hairdryer then waited for the metal to cool as I didn't want the Capt T's to dry too quickly.
I found a hypodermic syringe with needle to get along the inner gutter worked great. I bought a small bottle first but wish I'd got the larger one (which I did in the end). Good luck.
