Disco 2, Metropolis.

Noticed this morning (after nearly 24hrs of constant rain) that the trim above the forward passenger door was wet all along from the windscreen end to the rear of the front door.

Any ideas? Would it be windscreen seal as the door seal seems fine, so I think it is getting wet from 'above' the bottom of the trim (if you see what I mean). We did drive home up the motorway yesterday evening for 45 mins in heavy rain, so it has had 'driving rain' hitting it from the front, not just sat outside in the rain.

Thanks in advance.

mine was same till couple weeks back.
got tube of clear silicon sealant(exterior grade) and ran a bead along in between seal and screen.left it fer arf hr then pressed it down. wet finger and smooth off along seal makin sure not little holes. then run some in corner of screen nuder the roof gutter make sure no holes...
leave for further couple hrs til dry. then remove excess off body work. comes off dead easey.
problem solved. voila!

Or just accept that it's a landy, and they do leak!! Mine leaks in water and leaks out oil!! if i can work out how i'l make a bloody fortune!!

you should sell it to some stupid americans...

right then yank listen up, if you pour water on the top of this, oil comes out of the bottom... it's disgused as a 'Truck' but it's really and oil making machine that runs on water...

cured mine by using tube of orrible black gung from main stealer had 2 drop tube in hot water on a regular basis 2 get the crap out of tume but sticks like sh1t to a blanket.

I dug out a piece of cracked goo from top of roof at the end of the gutter re filled & ran a bead under windscreen rubber seal @ top 4 good measure, dry as abone now HTH

If water leaks in from the windscreen does it often cause electric probs, I have lecky probs and thinks its from a water leak but I have no sunroofs.

Thanks

Thanks guys,

I have done a search and found a few threads with relevant info. Sounds like first check is the sunroof, then windscreen and then alpine windows! Should keep me busy..........
