Hello folks,

I have a problem with water in the rear foor well ( both sides).

The water is too much:(

I tried to source the problem till now without success. Can some one help with experience and suggestions?

The Freelander is 3 door, has Hard top and glass sun roof. MY2004

Thank you very much in advance.

Fold up the rear seats and lift the carpet where it joins under the seats and check the circular metal plate is screwed down. It's the plate that gives access to the top of the fool tank.

Hippo,

thanks very much for the quick reply...

What are your thoughts about this metal plate??

I removed the front seats but not the rear seats.

The car has stayed approx 3 weeks during my holiday. Do i have to check the hard top seal as well?

Regards, Kliment

The metal plant covering the top of the fool (feul) tank should be screwed down. It has a sort of seal around it. If you don't screw it down then water can get in when your at speed driving through water. I have eggsperienced this.

Yep look for seal problems around the hard top. Also look for damp in the boot. The fish tank (lockable security box int boot) is known for filling with water due to damp, rear window seal and roof leaks. Also water splashing up from underneath if the boot metal floor plate seems have split due to accidents etc.
