I have been enjoying driving by disco I around for the past 5 months, especially splashing through the puddles in South Devon today! But I keep wondering why it's not possible to stop water from puddles landing on the windscreen? I am sure it's to do with tyre width, ride height and the wheel being right at the front of the truck, but it does make seeing tricky, the poor wipers just can't keep up!

I guess it's one of the joys of owning a land rover..….…

I used to love doing that in me disco ;)

It's less fun in my series though you tend to get wet and the wipers find it hard to clear a light drizzle let alone half a puddle  :D

With so little over hang on the front end there is nothing to stop the water spraying up in front of you, which on 'car' would get caught by lots of plastic arch/bumper etc...

I was only having the conversation with a mate the other day would was struggling to understand why it happens!

So true :D

I love doing it in my D3 too though, the water flying up and hitting the windscreen is the whole point of it for me :D

think rally cars used to fit front mudflaps to stop that reason of forwards thrown water that you drive through

I can't many pics, but here's one of a mini with them:

I guess a lot of stages don't/didn't involve large puddles or fords where it is an issue, and these days teams are probably too worried about aero etc and their bumpers are quite low compared to the old stuff so it isn't so much of a problem.

My kids 2 & 6 bloody love that in Drover.

I have a route where they can sit in the front and be right on the action - luckily enough its on the way to the grandparents house and is a tad off roady as in its an old farmers track that kind of loops off the road and back on again a bit further on.
