Freelander 1 3 door Hardback 2004

Although I have read previous posts on this issue I am still a little confused.

At first I thought it may be due to condensation forming on the lockable lid so I removed that and put a slatted wood cover over the compartment instead. This seemed to work for a while but after some rather inclement weather recently I had another look today................ a blooming swimming pool in there so perhaps the seal and associated mods someone mentioned was not addressed on post 2000 models.

It is still under a used vehicle warrantee so hopefully the dealer will be able to sort it out, but I am not holding my breath that it will be covered as it is not a mechanical issue!

There a few causes of water in the under floor locker.
1 duff door seal.
2 faulty door membrane.
3 water tracking down door wiring.
4 bad sealing between locker pressing and boot floor panel.

Mine used to have some water, not much, but enough to make the carpet damp....bought one of the Dehumidifier contraptions from Asda (£1) & this soaked up the condensation....have to change it every month tho.
But it turned a lot worse a while back & it was exactly the same as in the YouTube video....used a tub of paint-on bitumen seal, a few coats underneath all the way round the spot welds & its perfect :D
