Just replacing washer jet on 200tdi defender with ones fitted to the wipers, piped em up and still only a dribble of water coming through. Took washer bottle off to clean it out and wondered why I have two pumps going straight into a t-piece then one pipe up to washer nozzle. Would one pump have been for front and one for rear wash originally? or is it piped up correctly as it is? I don't have a rear washer.
Only one of the electrical plugs seems to work so can only get one pump to go at a time, makes a noise but not enough pressure coming through. Not sure if I need both pumps working at once or do I just need one pump that works properly?

Impellers can / will disintegrate in time. Motor will still whizz round but with a worn out impeller there will be no pressure. New pumps are cheap, I treat them as a consumable service part.

Thanks. Looks like someone has removed the rear wiper and then plumbed both pumps to the front at some point. Glad I asked as I was about to replace both pumps!

If the pumps are plumbed into a t piece, with only one pumping it will pump it back through the other pump and back into the bottle, either make the other pump work (wire it up so they come on together) or do away with the t piece so the working pump just does the front screen

Yes I was just wondering if that could happen, will try each pump on its own before buying another one.
