Washer motor?

Hello and happy new year

Quick question, when I go wash the windscreen the wipers start going but no water comes out. Also no water comes out of the headlamp washers either and I can't hear the washer water pump working either.
It just stopped, was working in the morning, but not in the afternoon.

Any ideas?

Ha, I'm far from immune to school boy errors but it's not that

i have come across problems with washer bottles before in fords. people quite often put washing up liquid in the washer bottle or other 'screen cleaners' some of which cause a jelly like stuff to gather in the bottom of the washer bottle over time. it could be your washer bottle has got this gel in the bottom that has blocked the pump stopping it working.
its most likley way off the mark but its worth a look. try removing the washer bottle and test the pump on a battery to see if its the pump thats packed in also wash out the bottle while its off. if the pump works drop a tester on the pump plug wires and see if its a power problem ?

Is the washer bottle holding water?

Sounds daft at first, but my mate had similar trouble, found to be the stub on the washer pump inlet had broken, so water simply drained out very slowly, until pumping then pumped into engine bay!

Went to get a second hand motor but couildn't get it out of the Disco being broken due to the washer bottle being frozen solid so went home, removed my washer reservoir (had to ground off the bolts in the wheel arch) and swapped the tubes over from the front mototr to the rear (and found out in the process that the rear new pumped water to the back because the hose connector was snapped)

Now I press the rear wash and it pumps the front washers ; )

Played around with the pump for the front and that works now. Will set them straight on the weekend. Cheers anyway

Had to grind mine off too to sort the rear washer turned out the non return valve had siezed. Bought a mini one off ebay for a pound job done

Might sound daft but what did you search for on ebay to find them. Might get some for spares

yes trawled ebay none at the time and no-one breaking one could be bothered to strip a disco for one
slight change of subject does the model with front headlight washers use an extra motor or is it run from the front screen ?

There are three motors coming from the bottle

Front window, rear window and headlight washers.
