Hi Guys,

Very little info for this mod, so figured I'd make a post about it.

First I sealed up the holes (using tiger seal) for the bumper washers and the rear window washer as I never use the rear washer or wiper and the bumper has been removed for an winch bumper anyway.

I salvaged some old brackets that were for mounting a set of spot lights and cut and drilled them to mount them

The mounting points on the bulkhead already had holes which seem to be from the old D1 design as this is where the washer bottle is normally mounted on a D1, so I used these holes.

I cut the filler nozzle down and forced it in the hole. Where it sits, the bonnet does not come into contact with the filler cap, so just make sure you mount yours low enough to avoid hitting the bonnet and you can reuse the old filler nozzle.

Last details which have no pictures:

I cut the pipes and reused the old pipe to connect the bonnet washer jets.

I cut the ground and live wires to the washer motor, pulled the live wire through from further up, resoldered and heat-shrinked the connection.

For a ground, I used a mutlimeter to check the continuity to the battery and found the mounting points for the ABS module were suitable, so crimped a connector on and bolted it to the ABS mount on the wing side.

Hope this helps someone.

I have to ask. Why did you want to move it anyway?

It is a common mod if you are off roading a lot and have fitted a winch / HD bumper, when you remove the std bumper you find the washer fluid bottle hangs down like a basset hounds wotsits. So it becomes likely for damage.

Cheers
