My windscreen washer doesnt want to work. I can hear the motor but no water comes out. I know its not frozen.

Are there any simple checks I should make?

get a needle in the washer jets and clean it... i've had to do it recently..

Also need to re-direct one of the jets as its pointing to the roof instead of the windscreen, but everytime i try to move it, the needle breaks!

Check the bottom of the Washer bottle....it may be full of scum..my transit washer bottle was full of nasty stuff after someone had filled it with nasty smelling stuff. I put an airhose in the pipe and back blew it through to break it up.

On a slightly different subject - does anybody know where the hoze to the rear washer is routed when they leave the factory? as i'm putting the rear washed back in after the previous owner removed it for some strange reason!

(i.e. under the roof line (and if so how does it get up there) or under the floor)

an them not servicable diaphragm no return valve thingys those get glunged up also if sus fluid used.

you're lucky to have a washer spray. mine freezes and swells and dislodges the spray end from the barbed tube and, still full of ice, it blows off when the washer is used. i've been through three of them so now i've drilled a hole in the bonnet and hooked up a bit of poly pipe and an irrigation spray. it looks dodgey but it's more reliable than original equipment....and i am in australia we only get to about minus 9 c here...what do they do in canada and norway etc.?

are there any cold proof solutions to defender original equipment?

fixed my window washer's, st8uck a pin right in the holes (went quite far)gave it a little toggle
then kept the washer button depressed untill it started working
thanks for info
