Warning lights have come on.

Hi Guys, i am new to this site, so be gentle with me!
I have a Freelander, 05 Reg and two warning lights came on today and went off after a while, then came back on again.
One light is the Traction Control light and the other is the " Hill controlled descent"??? light. Is it safe to drive like this and does anyone have any idea of the problem?
