Hi guys joined the forum in hopes someone can help me,

My husband has been putting a lot of time energy and money into our Freelander and his birthday is coming up soon and I really want to get him a full new radio with the full display gps Bluetooth etc but i am struggling with the sizes

We have a 2006 MK1 Freelander facelift edition

I think I am correct in looking for a double din screen stereo but I have found ones that say compatible with Freelander 1 and they are 7" display
and others that say compatible with Freelander 1 but are 6.2"

I can't find the sizes on google anywhere (or I am using the wrong search terms and not the 'official' names for the parts!) and I don't want to take a tape measure out as I could end up measuring the wrong bit or not account for the fixing etc,

Can anyone help me with what exact size display I need for the car and also any necessary extras I will need to buy to fit it (it won't be me fitting it don't worry!)

Thanks guys in advance

Introductions only in ere. Pop over to the safety of he Freelander section as above.

Welcome to the forum.

It’s a bit confusing, that I’d agree but the biggest screen you can get in a double din is 7” however that is with absolutely no physical controls or CD slot or anything on the front.
If you buy one with a CD player and or physical controls on the front then you’ll end up with a smaller screen, such as the 6.2” that you mentioned.
It is the single/double din bit that matters.
