Cheers mate. It does work if I wire straight from a battery, goes in and out. What I need is a control box to suit it and a clutch lever as the one on it has a worn cam.
Dont bother with a control box and traditional solenoids, splash out and fit an albright solenoid. Cannot help with the cam lever unfortunately.
And here comes the stupid question. I thought the control box contained the solenoid. Are they different things.

Cheers Dag. Sorry for late reply. Yes, all I have is the bare winch. I've been looking at videos all day about solenoids and I saw an upgrade kit that contains an albright and replaces the two spacer bars on the top. I'm also not certain what rate of solenoid to get but I think I might site it in the engine bay aswell. If so my apologies, you will still need one of these to house the solenoids. You are correct it does contain the solenoids but the solenoids are separate units and are not integrated into a single control unit (to my knowledge). Rather than fitting multiple old fashioned solenoids in the plastic box fit an albright solenoid which is a single unit and fully waterpoof. If you go down this route I know of people who have fitted them in the engine bay rather than in the control box on top of the winch so this is also an option but you end up with longer HD connecting cables form the solenoid to the motor.
I have a husky fitted to mine so am not familiar with warn, but the principles will be the same and I can dig out the wiring diagrams I used if needed. I got my spares from here: link. They are not cheap but they do stock (at least for my husky they did) everything you need to completely rebuild the winch
. I'll get my welder out and put a bit of weld where it's worn then file it down .

I did say they weren’t a cheap site but they were the only place I could find with a comprehensive spares stock for my husky. I would definitly try and repair that you have first.Edit, just looked at two clutch levers, best part of £100
