Im looking for a Discovery 2 TD5 with a 15P engine to use as spares for my Discovery im taking on a trip next year. The Discovery in my profile picture is the vehicle i need spares for is a pre facelift. Looking for a spares or repairs vehicle but it must be drive able looking to spend around £1000 would consider a vehicle in the UK or Ireland thanks

It may be that some owners don't/didn't realise they may have 15p engine in their car! Your looking at 6 months window before the change to facelift?

On a positive note! There are 700 -/+ D2s still around! How many are in that window???

Why do you need one??

Not many differences (bar the engine! I.e. ECU, EGR and enging head)

Im taking part in a rally heading down the west of Africa so i want to buy a spare one to strip down for spare parts. I would settle for a face lft if thebparts are interchangeable

85-95% of 10p or 15p (facelift) work together!
Bits that don't!
Exterior: rear light cluster, headlights, bumper!!
Engine: complete change!

Look for both! If cheap enough ??🤔

I was reading up and it says between the pre face lift and face lift theres like 700 changes. I also thought the facelift had a 16 or 20 p engine

I looking to take major parts like

Engine and hoses
Engine control unit and body fuse box
Fuel pump and relays
Axel shafts

Basically parts that will keep me moving

The TD5 engine should be fine, you might take ancillary items such as an alternator and water pump. Oh and a spare ECU as they are now starting to fail without warning and you won't repair that at the side of the road.

Alternator and water pump has been changed a while a go along with the thermostat and radiator

Are the body and engine ECUs plug and play or do you have to program them to chassis?

You can buy "plug and play" where you just plug the replacement ECU in.

l think it's just the immobiliser that's disabled.
There's a company near me who does them. Around £700 when l bought one.
