Hello all. Ok, long shot this one..... I used to own Land Rover 101, rego number UDG 201R. I believe it's been sold to a new owner who lives in Bristol... This is what I've gleaned from the 101 forum. The new owner is so say returning it to original spec.... So, Rag Top, V8 + 4 speed, green, etc. if he is, he'll be removing my home made bumper (pictured). I'd love to find it, buy the bumper back and get it to my Dads place in Nth Herefordshire.... And eventually on to Oz... So, yeah... A long shot!!!! Here's a pic of said vehicle! Cheers in advance!

Yeah, will have too! Think the original plans are in a chest somewhere at Dads place! Was 3mm steel from memory with 10mm on the middle plate. The next 101 will be even more insane than the last!! :)

Do you have a 101 now? We're producing a leaflet for the Bristol & West LR show and looking for a pic of a members 101.

If so and you fancy could you PM pics to SnowmanV8?

I have one lined up to buy but have to sell my 130 to do it! Don't really want to part with it but the desire to own another 101 is winning! Thinking Cummins 6Bt and some sort of Powershift gearbox.... along with a 4 door conversion and another quad light bumper. So, sadly no as of yet I don't have 'The Next 101'.. I'd be happy for you to use the pics of my old one tho... Not sure about its new owner as I've not located him yet! :) Here's a pic of the 130!

Find a dodge diesel pickup and use the motor, transfer box, transmission. may want to consider the axels as well as it should have lsd front and rear

Yeah, been researching the Dodge stuff over here.. Trouble is engines and boxes go for silly money here. That's why I was considering going with the engine and box of a Leyland Daf 45 complete with linkage, intercooler, rad, compressor etc etc. just fancy a Powershift tho! Will run the LT230 though as I want to retain the full time four wheel drive and LR Axles. Also looking at the Nissan FD6t engine again and the 6 speed that goes with it over here..... Just gotta sell my white monster first!

Nice 130 :)

And totally rust free!!! Moving ver here and going to buy vehicles was entertaining for the first week. I went looking for rust..... and there just is none!!!! Perfect bulkhead, doors, rear x member... I'm doing a SWB Ser 2 Tdi and LT230 build up for the wife and the donor vehicles are a similar story! Minimal rust in everything. Removed the doors from the 1963 Shorty last nite and they ALL unbolted.. easily! I have a thread running on AULRO.com (Australian LR Forum) under 'Projects and Tutorials' called 'SWIMBO's Ser 2 Tdi.. The Beginning' if anyone is interested. Might get one going on here!.....?

We always like build thread on here :D and pics! Lots of pics (most of the locals can't read and just like looking at prety pictures)

Well, the 130 went, and I now have another 101! Wheels have been shot blasted, primed, painted and fitted with Michelins, the knackered V8 has come out and a loan 3.9 has been fitted, the swivel seals have been replaced, brakes all checked, shockers removed, bushes replaced and refitted.. Reversing light switch fitted... Now building two fresh fuel tanks incorporating air tanks and battery storage!! If they start up a Forward Control sect option on here, I'll do a Build Thread on it! :)

Ah, the air system... Well, there is a Cummins 6Bt and 5 speed out of a Daf 45 somewhere on the high seas about 10 days out of Adelaide which is destined for the 101.... The engine has a decent compressor on it, and I believe the gearbox to have an air assisted clutch slave cylinder so that'd be nice to use in the conversion. It's also useful to have air on board for airing up tyres after a blast in sand etc. I'll prob use it to supply a front locker later down the track as they don't make a Trutrac to suit the 101 Salisbury (shafts are too big).

I think a truck engine and box will be far to heavy , Even out of a 7 1/2 toner
have you checked size and weight
(Im only saying out of interest ,not being an arse )
