Hey all
we're off on a little camping jaunt soonish but cant decide between Wales or Scotland....
we like the thought of Wales cos of the lanes but we're tempted by the scottish scenery...where there are no "byways". We do like the thought of wild camping in Scotland but as there are no lanes I assume it would have to be close to a road as I dont want to be tearing across the highlands where im not supposed to!
Any opinions/experiences?

cheers

 got to be where the lanes are :D:D:D '' WALES ''

You don't need lanes in Scotland! Go to the highlands and you'll find single track roads that go on for miles before you see another car! The isle of Skye is good too,we camp at a place called glen brittle, it's about 15 miles down a tiny single track road that goes through a forest and works it's way down the side of the mountain ending up on the campsite which is right on the beach. "perfect!"
