I joined this lovely forum shortly after buying my defender and have found a great deal of useful information by using that search thingummywhatsit, I realise this is not the correct way for a newby to use the forum and am very sorry but sometimes you just gotta break the rules.
Now back to the point, I know everybody likes piccys around here so i thought i'd show you my efforts to extend the breathers on my 90 after learning all about it from the magic search function.
I drilled the timing cover and fitted the elbow, added a drop of silicone to cover up my dodgy drilling.
Next came the front axle,
Then came the battle with the tunnel for access to the gearbox and T box (both also fitted by me with the aid of landyzone research)
next came the rear axle, which i completely failed at photographing as i was preoccupied shouting at the back door for hitting me on the head when i crawled out from under her.
I routed all the pipes up to a spot behind the engine where i constructed a mannifoldy thing.
then i drilled a ikkle hole in the top of the wing and with the aid of a bulkhead connector the breather makes its way out of the engine bay and changes colour to a lovely shade of black
I fitted a couple of P clips to the bolts that hold the snorkel brackets to run it up to the roof level and with the aid of a final P clip I fixed it to the roofrack. (spot the gaylanderer)
I then put her back together and made a cup of tea safe in the knowledge that that was another job well and truly bodged! And then I got to pondering about which oil leak I should have been tackling instead of playing with this frivolous blue pipe nonsense.
