Vogue 3.5 won't run Properly

I have a running problem when I start the car from cold it runs up fine, but once it reaches running temperature the revs rise and fall up and down until it stops, I have new plugs new leads new dizzy cap new rota arm, I don’t have any air leaks the timing is correct changed the coil, nothing has changed it still won’t idle it just revs up and down to stop. I don’t where else to look.

Thanks for the reply I don't think it's block but I will have a good look, also where would I find ballast wire

I presume that it is an injection model so I would look at the air intake and in particular the Throttle position Sensor which the accelerator cable is attatched to, it may be worn out.
Try a good dose of carb cleaner through the intake with the filter off first, that may improve things a little.

I have just found in the distributor the plastic that routes the wires round to the pick up is snapped, it’s the plastic channel that leads round to the pickup with the wires, that being broken wouldn’t make a difference would it as it’s only to keep the wires away from the centre isn’t it.

Throttle position sensor is that on the plenum with 3 wires on it black held in by two screws

Think so, it reads the position of the throttle and tells the ecu how far your foot is down.

That's the one I looked it up, I'll try to have a look at it tomorrow. thanks again

How wierd, no info as to the type of engine, fuel system or fuel? You have to provide more clues.

I guess its a flapper, running on petrol and lpg and because its a temperature related fault, it is running too rich after it warms up.

So the Coolant Temp Sensor or its connections are open circuit causing overfuelling when hot.

You will have black/wet spark plugs too.

Just changing the component will not expose connection problems, so test all the aspects of the CTS as per

Regarding air leaks have you ran tests? see here

FYI, 80% of all Flapper system faults are due to air leak and electrical connection issues.
