I know this has been discussed before, but it has certainly left me confused. I have just removed the viscous fan from my 2004 Td5 D90, courtesy of a spanner set fron Difflock, and can confirm that the thread is right-handed; i.e. the nut unscrews anti-clockwise. I hope this helps. BTW, if anyone would like to borrow/rent/buy the spanners, get in touch.

hows ur landy goin nelly??not kept tabs on ur work in progress!is there much work needed?

Ar not bad thanks :) Drained tha rad today, flushed out the rad and matrix before refilling with 50% antifreeze ready for the winter (I think there was just water in there before.. Doh!) Got a few chassis bits that will be welded in the spring (asking for the bits for christmas) and she's gonna get painted but other than that she's all good :)

Never mind, there's always the good old GPO. The spanners weigh about 1.5 kilo - postage would only be about £5 or so.
