Could anyone tell me why my freelander vibrates when the revs are between
2500 & 3000 it happens in every gear, it runs great before & after these revs.
We had the bushes and the hand brake sorted out and i asked the mechanic to have a look but he said he couldn't see what could be causing the problem.

if you put your hand on the handbrake when driving do you get vibration through it,if so could be your prop bearings also check viscous coupling by the prop bearings make sure its not breaking up also rear diff front mount breaks up causing vibration

Would it be an L series diesel by any chance? If so Landrover know of a common fault where the pipe leading from the air box to the resonator comes lose and causes the resonator box to hum against the inside of the NS wing. If you give your NS wing a hard thump with your fist you may hear it.

a couple of issues spring to mind,

1,the one that tinytdi suggests
2,also with L series diesels the exhaust downpipe bracket would snap at the weld point causing a vibration,
3,if its a 1.8 try this, with car stationary slowly rev engine up to 4000rpm if at 4k the vibration is major the fault is the IRD bracket to engine sheared at top fixing bolt(this might not be visual though, you may need to take bolt out then part of bracket will fall apart)
