This will be easy for someone to check. When you open the front vent flaps does your lever lock in to place by pulling toward the drivers side and fitting the lever in to one of the many little slots? Or, do you push it towards the drivers side to locate it in a little slot?
Strange question, I know. However, the Mrs reckons our levers operate the opposite way to what they did, which means I've refitted the mechanism upside down. She's always right  but wanted to check first.
Not that I'm in a hurry to take the dash apart, and not sure if it makes much difference. They don't clamp shut as tight as they did, but I had put that down to a combination of new bulkhead and new flap seals. Could be that the slots are not in the same position when upside down, if indeed they are. She'll be right :(

Mine is a LHD, don't know if that makes any difference. The the slots are on the drivers side (LHD) which in your case would be passengers side.

Hmm, looks a bit scruffy. Must tidy it up one day.

Definitely have the locking slots on the left side of mine on both the defender and the series.

Awesome lads, thanks for that. She's wrong, for once! :D
Took the ashtray out and had a look in with a torch before and couldn't see how I could have fitted it upside down.
Nice to have it confirmed. :)

Yeah, my slots dress to the left, as do my unmentionables .. :)
