Ok I just seen a tdi disco on eBay that's been converted to run on veg oil I no i can get away with sticking the odd bit of oil in with the diesel in my tank but this system uses a twin tank system a small tank in the boot full of diesel then the reg tank full of tesco own brand oil????? Just like a LPG! Can anyone please explain this system to me? I am very very very keen on the idea I want it!!!!!! Will I lose power or kill my engine? How easy is it to do the conversion and most important how much??????? Cheers

basically the motor starts on diesel, and once its started it heats the veg oil to make it nice and viscous then it switches over to veg........... veg oil can be a bugger to start on which is why they have the 2 tanks....same with gas

Ok what's the catch??????? Is there a loss on power? Will is f"ck my engine? Is it expensive? How does the law stand? Cause ATM I am about to raid bookers for oil and open the tool box is!!!!!! Is new or used oil better???????

new oil is better but if you really wanted to go for it forget the 2 tanks and make your own fuel......

bio diesel, its a fooker to get your head round and is like being back in science class at school but you will end up with a product that will run in pretty much any diesel car and cast less than clean veg oil

Make Biofuel News | Make Biodiesel at Home

is it rely this easy????? Does it not need to be mixed at all??????
Is this a way then the twin tank system?

I am not sure you have read your link. you mix caustic (dangerous) with methanol (very dangerous) and then mix this with wvo, then with constant mixing you will get biodiesel with soap and methanol in it and glyc, that have to be seperated, then you have to remove the methanol and soap from your biodiesel before you can use it.

No its not easy to make good fuel, its very easy to make crap, your choice.

go to the forum in my link and you will get all the info you need (and more)
