Gentlemen,

I want to change my fuel gauge to the VDO redline unit. The unit uses a dip tube sender.my question is does anyone have experience with this and if so what length sender should I get for my 1991 defender 90 200tdi? Thanks in advance for the help!

Afraid not.

Swapped all my instruments to Durite and the OE fuel sender is a perfect match so I didn't bother with the Durite item.

after reading their literature the length is taken from the top of the tank to the bottom less 4mm and there are several methods of fixing but not sure about low level warning to instrument cluster and does your tank sender not use a locking collar

Mystery,

Thanks for all the information! I’ll have to get the dimensions of the tank now and look at the mounting solution.

Haven’t taken it out yet. Wanted to figure out what length sender I needed then order new one. Still not sure on how the new sender will attach to taken. Looks like one option is to use the flange with the cut in it. That would t involve any welding...
