Curious to see if anyone can identify what is missing from my V8.

It starts and runs no problem and as far as i can work out these bits have always been missing.

Could anyone tell me what they are and if there is a benefit to finding the missing parts and fitting?

Top bracket for dipstick holder, though i think youve worked it out anyway
Spare vacuum, could be for distributor vac advance, is yours missing?
Last one im not sure, could it be an old in line fuel filter?

Picture 1. To the right of your finger there is a circular boss on the side of the rocker cover, that is where the dipstick tube is p clipped usually. Is the thing you are pointing at a female spade connector?

Pictures 1-4 is a male spade with an old female spade still attached. Not sure if you've seen my other thread but I do think the dip stick is missing. Have to have a better look at the sump. The vacuum tube with the screw in picture - I'm not sure if the distribution vacuum advanced is missing. I don't remember seeing anything missing from the dizzy.

Im having a similar problem with my RRC efi V8...I cant find where the hose that supplies the vacuum reservoir globe originates from on the engine end !
I do have the workshop manual for the vehicles from 87 onwards so maybe I could PM you the address of where I got them or even the pdf if I can work out how - Im more your covered-in-oil and chewing spanners type bloke so Im not to hot on these typewriter /television hybrid machines we use instead of actually talking to people these days .Luddite ? Yes .Sorry ? No .

Sorry about that ,or rather ,not....I'll get me coat ....

Where is the one that does the globe live ? I have not been able to find it and hence ,since replacing n/s inner wing I have a disconnected globe hose and a vacuum leak

nobody know where the thicker of the two hoses that are attached to the globe comes from /goes to ? Cannot find anywhere on plenum or ram house

The vacuum can only come from a connection at the base of the plenum, called a ram pipe housing I believe, so either on the the side the brake servo pipe is connected there's an additional threaded hole in the centre or on the other side there could be a small nipple ERC377 which is a push fit into a hole in the base.
Large hose to the plenum small hose to the heater servo.
May be wrong as It's been 19years since I took a look at a 3.5 :)

Thanks ,had a real good look on sunday but still unable to find it....so on the ram body on the servo/uk drivers side ? On the side ,not the back or in the valley ?
You are the first person who has been able to give specific info !
Sounds like theres a vacuum leak on the o/s but I cannot find a spigot or hole even when I unbolted and lifted the plenum to look underneath.....I must be REALLY stupid ,so stupid that I never noticed just how stupid I actualy am...and so on.

Yes UK spec...This will give an idea of what is on the offside of the plenum I can't find any thing in the Haynes RR workshop manual showing vac hoses.. (NOTE the small one at the rear).
On the other side (throttle side) where there's a small spigot but that only connects to a T piece on the crankcase breather pipe and that's my 3.9 so u wont have that but you heater vac pipe may tap from same place.
So as u can see the large vac hose going to the brake servo and that's about it, the only other thing to find is the small pipe for the heater.
