ok so i post a while back about this but its time to do it. What does it mean in the haynes manual

"to prevent the possibilty of damage, turn the adjusters to eliminate all clearance from any loose rocker arms before turning the crankshaft to check the valve clearances"

does it mean the same adjuster to adjust the valve clearances? and if so hich way should the clearance be eliminated?

Know this is probably me just worrying too much about the whole thing iv done things like replace the diff by myself and not broken a sweat but this is a bit diffrent!

Thanks.

I can only think that you're reading the bit about doing the adjustment after a rebuild.

This would be because you don't want pushrods falling out of place as you turn it over, the adjustment being non-existent so that they can fall out from under the rockers.

So, if you're just doing a 'service' - carry on as usual.
