update ;after my overheat problem the valley gasket decided to give up so i took it to a local garage to have it repaired:eek: anyhow, next day went fishing about 10 mls from where i live and when i looked under car there was a waterfall of oil coming from rear of engine,so took it back to garage he looked and said its not v/gasket its heads,so not convinced i got under rr to see for my self ,sure it was the v gasket i went back again and he agreed to look at v gasket ;)i stood with him and sure enought it was ,then the excuses ,back pressure ,heads, cam,
blah, blah ,theres some prob that caused it to go and i would haveto pay for it to be done again:eek:yer right
so first question;back pressure,or heads or something else or just fitted wrong ,hes dicided to fit a new vg and as guaranteed it will go within one week.

got to be carefull what i say here matey, but i think your mechanics talking complete and utter bollox:).but then i have been known to be wrong so lets see how that new valley gasket goes.

If your mechanic has mentioned back pressure it would have pushed the valley gasket upwards. If this is not evident then your man is talking ****e, hes fooked something up by the sounds of it.
