Hi folks I have just bought a S reg disco 300TDI with the paperwork from Land Rover it appears this was built as a V8 auto not required in Singapore because of fuel crisis was shipped back to solihull and a tdi and manual gearbox fitted and sold to staff.
very high spec i.e aircon in the back as well as front separate compressor in the back behind seat different parcel shelf.
1 snag if you check hpi it is still same chassis no and say auto V8 log book says tdi manual what would insurance say i aint told em yet just got it from reg as tdi.
any ideas or anyone else had this sort of thing !!

have now traced the motor to a batch built for Malaysia it was shipped then returned due to the fuel crisis where Land rover removed the V8 and auto box and fitted a TDI and manual box.Should have heritage certificate next wk to confirm
Has anyone else come across these some times called Honda Crossroads and with high spec interior and air con in the back as well as normal aircon:cool:

Back in 1993 LR had an agreement with Honda where by imported Disco's were rebadged and called Honda Crossroad all were five-door V8i models but after 1994 sales were low, as the new owners required the authentic Land Rover Discovery, and so the 'Honda Disco's' were no more.
Rear a/c was an option in the D1
