Had a few electrical issues just latley so just in case this helps anyone else.

Marvin had been running fine until suddenly dying on me in an 'out of fuel' way, I knew it wasn't the case tho as he had just been filled up.

After much faffing around and everything seeming to be ok mechanically and electrically he still would not run for more than a few seconds still with an out of fuel diagnosis.

I even tried unplugging the ECU but there was no change at all when fired up. Yesterday tho was different, I had declared war on finding a cure at set to it like this:

I ran a wire straight from the battery to the blue/purple wire on the ecu (after trying others)

This wire made the fuel pump/main relay come on when the ignition was on as it would seem these relays were being shut off when the key was released from the start positon.

I have now installed a toggle switch (on/off) for these relays with a 12v feed, this kind of acts as an immobiliser too as the engine wont run if left off. The feed is from the fag lighter so the relays are only on when ignition is on if the switch is in the 'on' position.

I just have the timing to do now as she is out a lot and I have found a pdf showing the timing procedure. It states 6" BTDC but doesn't mention which pot.

Anyone care to throw me a hint?

Cheers and thanks for the help this far.

Jon
