V8 LPG conversion

Is it worthwhile? Things to watch out for? Problems?

This is the Freelander section! Freelanders don’t have v8’s as standard.

If you need lots of power buy the v6 2.5L petrol version of the Freelander. Power to weight ratio will be better than fitting a v8 in a Freelander. 0 to 60 in 10 seconds.

Not really worth it when the v6 is available, as they’re cheap due to low mpg and everyone prefers the td4 diesel for economy.

Yu cant fit a V8 into a hippo as all the (Land rover) V8's are in line, not transverse without rebuilding the whole drive train and half the bodyshell and brakes to take it.

Dont get a V6 unless you like spending money like water. Either get a TD4 and be happy with it, get a V8 Disco, cos I assume you want comfort - or go buy a lotus7 clone.

Found it further down. I was wrong it's not a Freelander. Not sure if it ever worked though. Looks like you have to trash your hippo to fit it.

the only way i know that has worked is fittinf a Hippoo body on a V8 disco chassis - picks are on here somewhere.

as stated many times before - fit a T220 turbo lump in - more power and less faffing around.

Tut tut....thought id educated you!!!!

V6 excellent on gas tweaked right you can get sub 8 sec 0-60 (loose a bit of bottom end torque) and same cost as 40+ mpg.
