And i was told il now need to get rid of the voltage regulator??? what do i do with all the wires that connect to it???
Thanks in advance

Presumably you now have an alternator instead of a dynamo which will have its own voltage regulator built in. Not sure which wires go where 'cos I haven't got a s2 wiring diagram but the dynamo to alternator conversion is pretty common and I'm sure I've seen plenty of articles on how to do it - try Googling something like "Land Rover dynamo to alternator conversion" or similar. Don't forget you'll need to be -ve earth too. If the old control box still works they can be worth a few quid so don't trash it.

if its the origanel wiring loom you have refitted i would take it out and start a fresh
40 + year old wires arnt gonna be in good condition
you only need a few wires for the engine as long as its a carb unit not injection
and the lights are fairlly straight forward to
sit down with a big piece of paper ane draw a new wiring diagram get hold of a large spool of trailer 7 core wire to do the lights and a few other colord spools for the engine
make sure you use cable that is heavey enough tocope with the current and away you go, i rewired mine in a weekend and im crap with electrics
