Hi all,

I have a 2001 51 plate, Land Rover Freelander V6 Petrol which runs really well, the red Oil Pressure Light has just shown up, it is when the engine is at low rpm and warm.

There are no noises or anything else suspect, car still drives well.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Philip

Hi Philip. I would probably post this in the Freelander section, this is the 2.5NA Defender engine page.

However, it probabaly means that the oil pressure sensor is needing changed - cheap good first item to change, or the oil pump is worn and can't keep the pressure up at low RPM and when the oil is a little less viscous.

It could also be pressure regulators and all sorts. Get it checked SOON though before you do major damage.
